October 8 announcements

This week all congregations in Eastern District & Franconia Conference are praying for Perkiomenville Mennonite Church.  Please pray that they will live up to their calling as the people of God and inspire others to follow Jesus, for wisdom and discernment as they search for a new associate pastor, and for wisdom for the implementation of ministry initiatives in 2020. To read more about Perkiomenville, go to franconiaconference.org/profiles.

You’re invited to an old fashioned a capella hymn sing sponsored by Frederick Mennonite Church on Sunday, October 13 at 2:30 pm. They’ll be singing from the 1969 Mennonite Hymnal at Bertolet’s Meetinghouse – across the road from the church – and light refreshments will follow.  For additional information, contact Greg Law at 267-273-5020 or gregbetty9604@verizon.net.

Bally Mennonite Church will be serving a pancake breakfast (including pancakes, French toast, sausage, scrapple, OJ, tea, & coffee) on Saturday, November 16 from 7:00 to 10:30 am.  The cost is a donation, and proceeds will benefit the Bally Community Preschool.  For more information visit www.ballymc.org.

Racism is alive and well in our country and our city. How should we respond? What should we do? Roots of Justice is hosting a 2.5-day Damascus Road training November 21-23 at The Church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields in Philadelphia. Learn to see and analyze racist systems, how they operate, where they come from and how to undo them.  Download a flyer to find out more and register here
