Karen’s Place invites you to their Monday Nights in August Concert Series with these upcoming concerts:

  • August 6 – Eddy Mann with special guest Liz Collins
  • August 13 – Constitution & Ninth with Yvonne Hartman
  • August 20 – Regenerated Soul with Eric Rapp
  • August 27 – Simple Tenants with Wendy Schettig

The next Photo ID Clinic will be Saturday, August 11, 10:00 am to 12 noon at New Life Internet Café, 19 W. Marshall Street in Norristown. Need a photo ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, voter registration or social services applications? Deep Run East Mennonite Church will hold a special outdoor combined Worship Service with Nations Worship Center on Sunday, August 12 at 10:00 am. There will be a picnic, games and activities following this special combined service; bring your lawn chairs!

 

Frederick Mennonite Church will be reaching out to guests of the Goschenhoppen Folk Festival by providing water, prayer and bathrooms to festival goers, as well as holding a hymn sing on Sunday, August 12 at 2:30 pm.  They’re in need of songbooks to borrow (preferably the brown Mennonite Hymnal), as well as volunteer song leaders. A Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at Deep Run East Mennonite Church on Tuesday, August 14 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. Please register at www.redcrossblood.org.

 

David Shenk, formerly overseas missions director with Eastern Mennonite Missions and the author of Christian, Muslim, Friend” (recipient of the Christianity Today 2016 Book Award in the category of Missions) will teach the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course in Souderton, Tuesday, October 9, 6:30 pm. Shenk’s class will be a ‘Taste of Perspectives’ session, open to all without registration.  Learn more here.

 

Benefit Spruce Lake’s growing youth ministry in The Trinity Tour Motorcycle Ride & BBQ Sunday, October 14. The tour begins at Pocono Mountain Harley Davidson and ends at Spruce Lake with a BBQ, music, speaker Lowell Delp, silent auction and prizes. The tour fee (tax-deductible) is $20/rider, $10/passenger. Please pre-register at www.sprucelake.org.
