February 6 announcements

Franconia Mennonite Conference is joining with Bucks County NOVA (www.novabucks.org) to offer a crucial training for congregations : “Mandated Reporter Training”.  This training is open to all who wish to attend in Eastern District and Franconia Conference and highly encouraged for those working with children and youth within all congregations.  Trainings are scheduled in May, June and September – learn more and register at FranconiaConference.org/events.  No charge to attend!

Boundaries create safe spaces and help to build trust. However, in our society sometimes we hear the word boundaries as a negative one. Healthy Boundaries 101 is a day-long training session that gives an ethical, theological understanding of healthy boundaries and offers a chance for discussion and reflection.  Events will be held throughout 2018, with the first training being Thursday, March 15.  Find more info and register at FranconiaConference.org/events.  This training is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

The Redemption and Hope support group invites you to their final group meeting, Tuesday, February 13, 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Zion Mennonite Church, when Nina Drinnan will speak on the Neuroscience of the Brain.  Redemption and Hope helps provide resources for families impacted by substance use; watch for updates on an April 28th convention in Newtown with the focus on community awareness of this epidemic.

Come Celebrate the Gift of Marriage at Blooming Glen Mennonite Church on February 17, 6:30 to 8:00 pm.  Married and engaged couples are invited for an evening of tasty desserts and to hear Michelle Altringer share her message of Friendship Building with your Spouse.  Please RSVP to Robin Long at robin@bgmc.net or 215-257-3431.

A Women’s Bible Study will be offered at Deep Run West Mennonite Church on Mondays with two options: a morning group (9:00-10:30 am) and evening group (7:00-8:30 pm).  The study will run February 26 to April 9, and the topic is “Let it Go” with Karen Ehman — a 6-session DVD study on putting God in the rightful place he deserves in your life.  If interested, please email lisa.stenger@yahoo.com or call 267-897-0695 to request a book.
