December 5 announcements

Blooming Glen Mennonite Church shares the Christmas story from prophecy to fulfillment through the musical, I Hear the Prophet Callin’, by Pepper Choplin, Sunday, December 17 at 6:30 pm.  Featured are the Adult and Junior Choirs, orchestra, soloists and scripture.  An offering will be received and refreshments will follow the service.

 

Souderton Mennonite Church invites you to their Longest Night Service, Thursday, December 21 at 6:30 pm. All who experience pain and loneliness during the holiday season are welcome to this service of hope as they share scripture, prayer and music to acknowledge that God’s presence is for those who mourn and struggle. Join Souderton Mennonite Church on Sunday, December 24 at 2:00 pm for an original play/musical “Left Out.”, which is a story about a shepherd boy who has to stay back and watch the sheep instead of going to Bethlehem. This Christmas celebration will feature the SMC Choir, solos, and lots of children. They will then hold their Christmas Eve Service at 6:30 pm with Scripture readings, carols/hymns, and a message. The emerging Monte Maria Churches in Mexico are in need of children’s teaching resources.  If your church has flannel graph sets no longer being used and you are willing to donate them, please contact Charlie Ness at  charlie@perkmc.com

 

A host family may be needed for a 7th-grade boy from China who will be attending Dock Mennonite Academy Middle School. He should be arriving for the 2nd semester in January 2018 and is looking forward to being with a family with children. The host family provides a private bedroom, meals and the local school district bus will provide transportation to and from school. The host will receive a generous monthly stipend.
