West Swamp Mennonite Church invites you to a Community Picnic at Molasses Creek Park on September 30, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, as part of their 300th Anniversary year-long celebration. Enjoy food at “historic prices” (25 & 50¢), children’s games, balloon art, face painting, photo ops with Iron Pig mascot FeRROUS (noon-2:00 pm), and the music of Mountain Heritage Bluegrass Band (noon-3:00 pm). The park is located at 2175 Krammes Rd in Quakertown. 


On October 16, the Mennonite Heritage Center is sponsoring a unique one-day tour to New York City to visit the Tenement Museum and learn the stories of immigrants on Manhattan’s Lower East Side in the mid-to-late nineteenth century. There will also be a 2-hour guided “Foods of the Lower East Side” walking tour of the neighborhood. For information and to register, see or call 215-256-3020. A Ten Thousand Villages Event Sale will be held at Deep Run East Mennonite Church. Dates are Thursday, October 19 (11:00 am-8:00 pm), Friday, October 20 (11:00 am-9:00 pm) and Saturday, October 21 (8:30 am-3:00 pm).  A Family Fun Night will also be held Friday night, 5:00 to 9:00 with a special dinner and activities for the children.


Trunk or Treat will be held at the Plumsteadville Firehouse (5064 Stump Rd, Doylestown) on Sunday, October 29 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Sponsored by Deep Run East Mennonite Church, this event will be fun for the whole family with free admission, carnival games, decorated vehicles, candy and prize raffle. In case of heavy rain, the event will be cancelled.

The Host role includes being a “first responder” to guests’ needs and monitors the food service line at meals.
