A Blood Drive will be held at Deep Run East Mennonite Church on Wednesday, May 24 from 2:00 to 7:00 pm. There is a shortage of blood and your help is needed. You can register online at www.redcrossblood.org. Walk-in’s welcome, but registration is strongly suggested.

 

Historian Ben Goossen will present the program “Mennonite Migrations and International Violence” on Thursday, May 25 at 7:00 pm at the Mennonite Heritage Center. Presenting research from his new book, Chosen Nation: Mennonites and Germany in a Global Era (Princeton University Press, May 2017), Mr. Goossen explores the entangled, tragic history of Mennonites’ encounters with mass violence on multiple continents. The 27th Annual Summerfest Fundraiser and Festival at Camp Men-O-Lan is May 27, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.  This is a free event that includes a raffle and live auction, food, a kids carnival, entertainment and much more.  Learn more at at their website.

 

Southern Gospel trio Harmony Sound will present a free concert at Spruce Lake Saturday, May 27 at 7:00 pm in the Lakeview Program Center. Ensemble members share a common faith in Jesus Christ and a love of Southern Gospel-style. Learn more at www.sprucelake.org/events/concerts.

 

Indian Creek Foundation’s 26th annual Roll, Stroll & Run will take place on Saturday, June 17.  This charity ride/walk/race has something for cyclists of all skill levels.  There is also a 5k and 1k course for walkers or runners and afterwards, participants can enjoy an all-you-can-eat picnic buffet. It’s Sleep Out Week (junior high Bible School) at Deep Run East Mennonite Church the week of June 18 to 23. Open to all 6th & 7th graders, the theme is “The Way I’m Wired”. The Trinity Tour at Spruce Lake is Sunday, July 16 (rain date — July 23).  Support Christian outdoor education at Spruce Lake when you join this scenic motorcycle ride around the Pocono Mountains.
