At the 2016 Assembly, delegates from Eastern District Conference and Franconia Mennonite Conference affirmed moving forward with a process to explore reconciliation and possibly reuniting EDC and FMC as one. West Swamp Mennonite Church invites you to their 10th and final “Sing for Life” Concert on Sunday, April 30 at 3:00 pm. Four choirs will “compete” for the Sing for Life banner; you “vote” for your favorite choir with a donation to the American Cancer Society. The concert ends with a congregational hymn medley and combined choir finale. The concert is a fundraiser for Upper Bucks Relay for Life.

 

You’re invited on an exciting one-day trip to Dickinson Plantation and dinner at a Maryland seafood buffet, Friday May 5.  The coach leaves at 9:30 am, returns about 9:00 pm, and the trip benefits Mennonite Central Committee Worldwide work, organized by MCC Material Resource Center.  Call 267-203-8074 for details by Tuesday, May 2.

 

West Swamp Mennonite Church invites you to Hymn Sing on Sunday, May 7 at 6:30 pm. Help celebrate their 300th Anniversary as they sing old and new favorites from the past and present, then stay for fellowship and refreshments.

 

A Mother’s Day Breakfast will be held Saturday, May 13, 9:00 to 11:00 am at Camp Men-O-Lan.  Ladies, come celebrate motherhood with great food, worship and sharing, an activity/craft and time to relax and enjoy! The next Photo ID Clinic will be Saturday, May 13, 10 am to 12 noon at New Life Internet Café, 19 W. Marshall Street in Norristown. Need a photo ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, voter registration or social services applications? Laughter is Sacred Space: The Human Faces Tour presented by Ted & Co. is a unique event heading out on tour this May for Mental Health Awareness month. This tour is about humanizing the faces and stories of those who struggle with psychological or mental disorders, and will be presented Saturday, May 20, 7:00 pm at Zion Mennonite Church. Admission to the show is free and a free-will offering will be taken to support the work of Penn Foundation.

 

Souderton Mennonite Homes is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and is seeking volunteers to serve as team leaders for the annual Chicken BBQ to be held August 26.  Leaders are needed to serve in the food tent and with the silent auction. About 40 spots remain open for the Step Up program – an opportunity for high school age youth to participate in the Future Church Summit at this summer’s Mennonite Church USA Convention in Orlando.  Any interested youth attending convention may participate by attending an orientation seminar and be included in table groups during the July 6-8 Future Church Summit.
